Show Notes
On this episode of A Walk on the Wild Side, join host Kyle Kansman (Michigan State 2022 DVM candidate) as he interviews two other incredible veterinary students, Floyd Williams Jr. (Purdue University 2022 DVM candidate) and Hira Basit (University of Florida 2022 DVM candidate and co-founder of Association of Asian Veterinary Medical Professionals) on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the veterinary profession. Listen in as we discuss issues surrounding race, ethnicity, sexuality, and other facets of DEI including how we can help grow DEI in the profession and some of our personal experiences and stories about how DEI has shaped us as people and future veterinarians. Celebrating DEI in all aspects of life is incredibly important and we hope that this episode brings discussion and meaningful change to the profession.
